The Christmas theme within the album is very open and musically embraces; rock ‘n’ roll, country, parody, easy listening, doo-wop and perennial favorites from the enchanting years 1954 through to 1963. The twenty-eight featured recordings, have dance tempos and additionally included are easy on the ears titles to enjoy not only with the rockin’ fraternity but family and friends at home. Atomicat Records send Season‘s Greetings and wish you a happy 2024.
It’s another end of the year celebration and Atomicat Records are providing the Christmas cheer with twenty-eight featured recordings from the enchanting years 1954 through to 1963. The album opens up with a floor-filling version of Dig That Crazy Santa Claus from Ralph Marterie and Lola Dee then musically changes the style and tempos. Elegant and traditional songs gracing the album include; Paul Anka with Jingle Bells, and Christmas In Japan (which is sang in English), Jackie Wilson, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and The Mills Brothers, Joy To The World. The instrumental versions of perennial music are; The Guitars, Inc. Sleigh Ride, and Bill Robbin‘s two titles are White Christmas, and Rockin’ Bells. Doo-wop music is performed by; Ray Pettis who sings two titles, Christmas Here, Christmas There, and Does It Have To Be Christmas, and Lynn Taylor with The Peachettes sing a harmonious and tranquil version of The Bells Of St Mary’s, and the sleeve notes tell you the history of this song.
The family friendly artist with sing-a-long titles include; Ella Fitzgerald, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,The King Sisters and their Family, Over The River (And Through The Woods), and The Bookends are in love singing about Christmas Kisses. The Christian gospel celebration of Christmas is heard from; The Staple Singers, The Last Month Of The Year, and Famous Blue Jay Singers of Birmingham Alabama praise the new born child with Born In Bethlehem.
The fans of Hillbilly music will enjoy; Jim Eanes with The Shenandoah Valley Boys, It Won’t Seem Like Christmas, and Homer and Jethro humorous two offerings, Santy’s Movin’ On, and Nuttin’ For Christmas. The Christmas message in Come On Santa, Let’s Have A Ball from Kay Martin and Her Body Guards is the risque, and The Garbage Collector In Beverly Hills album provides the wacky Department Store Santa Claus, and The Lollipops sing a reworking of a 1950s hit Mr. Sandman as Mister Santa. The album is brought to conclusion with The Qualities who sing a Happy New Year To You.
